Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.82% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 5.05% or 1.92 points to trade at 39.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) added 3.74% or 0.33 points to end at 9.15 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 3.42% or 2.00 points to 60.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which fell 3.45% or 0.43 points to trade at 12.04 at the close. Kruk SA (WA:KRU) declined 1.13% or 1.85 points to end at 162.15 and Play Communications SA (WA:PLY) was down 0.91% or 0.20 points to 21.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 247 to 208 and 194 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.23% or 0.67 to $53.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.43% or 0.27 to hit $62.24 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.95 to trade at $1317.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.07% to 4.2873, while USD/PLN rose 0.38% to 3.7599.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 95.847.
