Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which rose 4.37% or 2.61 points to trade at 62.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 3.80% or 2.40 points to end at 65.59 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 2.87% or 1.35 points to 48.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which fell 2.23% or 0.68 points to trade at 29.80 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 1.32% or 100.00 points to end at 7500.00 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was down 1.25% or 0.22 points to 17.41.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 306 to 267 and 115 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.97% or 0.92 to $45.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.98% or 0.48 to hit $49.20 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.68% or 8.00 to trade at $1187.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.10% to 4.2341, while USD/PLN rose 0.63% to 3.7098.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 94.26.
