Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Media and Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 4.88% or 4.65 points to trade at 99.90 at the close. Meanwhile, CCC SA (WA:CCCP) added 4.02% or 11.25 points to end at 291.25 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was up 2.89% or 0.27 points to 9.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 3.00% or 2.36 points to trade at 76.35 at the close. Kruk SA (WA:KRU) declined 2.06% or 6.10 points to end at 289.90 and PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) was down 1.58% or 0.93 points to 58.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 267 to 226 and 172 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.77% or 0.38 to $49.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.52% or 0.29 to hit $55.91 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.79% or 10.10 to trade at $1285.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.19% to 4.3034, while USD/PLN fell 0.31% to 3.6631.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.51.
