Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Energy, Construction and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which rose 4.09% or 6.35 points to trade at 161.55 at the close. Meanwhile, PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) added 4.06% or 0.54 points to end at 13.84 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 3.42% or 0.56 points to 16.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 3.41% or 3.11 points to trade at 88.10 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 2.15% or 1.42 points to end at 64.53 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was down 2.08% or 0.51 points to 24.04.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 295 to 265 and 107 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 3.20% or 1.53 to $49.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 3.13% or 1.60 to hit $52.94 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.47% or 5.40 to trade at $1143.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.25% to 4.2246, while USD/PLN fell 0.64% to 3.7445.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 95.39.
