Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Energy and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Text SA (WA:TXTP), which rose 13.08% or 9.60 points to trade at 83.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 5.18% or 0.55 points to end at 11.16 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 3.92% or 5.75 points to 152.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were X Trade Brokers Dom Maklerski SA (WA:XTB), which fell 2.68% or 1.90 points to trade at 69.10 at the close. Benefit Systems SA (WA:BFT) declined 2.27% or 60.00 points to end at 2,580.00 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was down 1.14% or 190.00 points to 16,510.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 272 to 246 and 104 ended unchanged.
Shares in Enea SA (WA:ENAE) rose to 5-year highs; rising 5.18% or 0.55 to 11.16.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.17% or 0.14 to $82.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.10% or 0.09 to hit $86.15 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.58% or 36.95 to trade at $2,370.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.25% to 4.30, while USD/PLN fell 0.75% to 3.98.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 104.92.
