Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Boryszew SA (WA:BORY), which rose 3.53% or 0.17 points to trade at 4.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) added 3.32% or 2.70 points to end at 84.00 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was up 2.54% or 1.50 points to 60.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 2.38% or 2.21 points to trade at 90.57 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 2.00% or 1.10 points to end at 53.90 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) was down 1.65% or 1.12 points to 66.94.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 287 to 226 and 165 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 5.93% or 2.21 to $39.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 5.66% or 2.23 to hit $41.66 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.32% or 3.90 to trade at $1241.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.17% to 4.2900, while USD/PLN fell 0.43% to 3.7611.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 94.23.
