Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Energy and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 1.90% or 1.30 points to trade at 69.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) added 1.83% or 1.05 points to end at 58.55 and Dino Polska SA (WA:DNP) was up 1.60% or 1.60 points to 101.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which fell 1.96% or 1.00 points to trade at 50.00 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 1.64% or 0.33 points to end at 19.80 and Play Communications SA (WA:PLY) was down 1.58% or 0.36 points to 22.46.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 273 to 181 and 196 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.69% or 0.91 to $54.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.07% or 1.26 to hit $62.10 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 3.75 to trade at $1321.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.72% to 4.2908, while USD/PLN rose 0.49% to 3.7403.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 95.232.
