Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food, Basic Materials and Developers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which rose 7.50% or 3.48 points to trade at 49.90 at the close. Meanwhile, KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) added 5.07% or 4.41 points to end at 91.36 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 4.25% or 1.97 points to 48.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which fell 3.25% or 0.55 points to trade at 16.38 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 2.08% or 1.40 points to end at 65.95 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was down 1.78% or 6.98 points to 384.82.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 316 to 242 and 113 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) rose to 52-week highs; rising 7.50% or 3.48 to 49.90. Shares in Energa SA (WA:ENGP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.25% or 0.55 to 16.38. Shares in Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.25% or 1.97 to 48.32.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.54% or 0.26 to $48.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.22% or 0.12 to hit $51.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1146.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.07% to 4.2364, while USD/PLN rose 0.13% to 3.7657.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 95.58.
