Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Energy, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 4.00% or 0.090 points to trade at 2.340 at the close. Meanwhile, CCC SA (WA:CCCP) added 3.30% or 7.20 points to end at 225.40 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was up 3.17% or 1.72 points to 56.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which fell 1.85% or 0.90 points to trade at 47.80 at the close. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 1.48% or 0.58 points to end at 38.68 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was down 1.10% or 0.10 points to 9.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 235 to 186 and 168 ended unchanged.
Shares in Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) fell to 5-year lows; falling 1.48% or 0.58 to 38.68.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 4.61% or 3.02 to $68.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 2.51% or 1.83 to hit $74.88 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1270.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.21% to 4.3177, while USD/PLN fell 0.51% to 3.7104.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 94.35.
