Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Media, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which rose 4.06% or 1.66 points to trade at 42.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Energa SA (WA:ENGP) added 3.14% or 0.39 points to end at 12.82 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 1.86% or 0.24 points to 13.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Boryszew SA (WA:BORY), which fell 3.48% or 0.18 points to trade at 4.99 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 1.75% or 0.99 points to end at 55.50 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was down 1.75% or 1.19 points to 66.79.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 272 to 232 and 181 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.26% or 0.11 to $41.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.58% or 0.24 to hit $41.78 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.31% or 3.90 to trade at $1248.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.06% to 4.2570, while USD/PLN rose 0.25% to 3.7976.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 95.69.
