Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Banking and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 7.28% or 4.00 points to trade at 58.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 5.06% or 4.78 points to end at 99.22 and Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) was up 3.85% or 5.00 points to 134.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which fell 4.69% or 0.53 points to trade at 10.78 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 3.50% or 3.46 points to end at 95.30 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was down 3.10% or 0.34 points to 10.62.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 252 to 236 and 177 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.56% or 1.00 to $62.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.26% or 0.85 to hit $66.44 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.31% or 17.50 to trade at $1315.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.01% to 4.1684, while USD/PLN rose 0.72% to 3.4089.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 90.36.
