Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Media, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 3.75% or 2.65 points to trade at 73.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 2.94% or 3.11 points to end at 108.83 and CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) was up 2.50% or 2.80 points to 114.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which fell 2.34% or 0.16 points to trade at 6.67 at the close. Kruk SA (WA:KRU) declined 1.89% or 4.40 points to end at 228.60 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) was down 1.85% or 1.00 points to 53.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 240 to 216 and 197 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.96% or 0.63 to $66.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $70.50 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.76% or 10.40 to trade at $1352.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.21% to 4.1336, while USD/PLN fell 0.42% to 3.3276.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 88.85.
