Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Energy and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 3.12% or 0.32 points to trade at 10.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 2.36% or 0.41 points to end at 17.78 and Grupa KĘTY SA (WA:KTY) was up 2.24% or 17.00 points to 776.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Text SA (WA:TXTP), which fell 2.01% or 1.60 points to trade at 77.90 at the close. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 1.85% or 1.70 points to end at 90.30 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was down 1.46% or 0.69 points to 46.64.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 279 to 206 and 124 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.60% or 1.97 to $73.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 2.07% or 1.63 to hit $77.19 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.84% or 21.55 to trade at $2,538.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.03% to 4.28, while USD/PLN rose 0.14% to 3.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 101.55.
