Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Media and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 5.37% or 3.40 points to trade at 66.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 4.13% or 3.79 points to end at 95.56 and CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) was up 3.74% or 7.60 points to 210.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 7.71% or 3.02 points to trade at 36.14 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) declined 3.02% or 0.17 points to end at 5.46 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was down 2.33% or 0.22 points to 9.21.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 263 to 176 and 181 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) fell to 5-year lows; down 7.71% or 3.02 to 36.14.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.29% or 1.55 to $66.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.77% or 1.29 to hit $71.52 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.40% or 17.10 to trade at $1201.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.45% to 4.3140, while USD/PLN rose 0.66% to 3.7865.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 96.26.
