Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Banking and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO), which rose 3.52% or 1.18 points to trade at 34.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 3.09% or 2.30 points to end at 76.80 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was up 1.93% or 0.85 points to 45.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which fell 3.02% or 1.15 points to trade at 36.90 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 2.38% or 0.25 points to end at 10.24 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was down 2.00% or 0.10 points to 4.89.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 341 to 267 and 159 ended unchanged.
Shares in Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.52% or 1.18 to 34.75. Shares in Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.09% or 2.30 to 76.80. Shares in Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.93% or 0.85 to 45.00. Shares in OrangePL (WA:OPL) fell to all time lows; falling 2.00% or 0.10 to 4.89.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.30% or 0.16 to $53.04 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.36% or 0.20 to hit $55.77 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.55% or 6.75 to trade at $1232.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.19% to 4.3108, while USD/PLN rose 0.00% to 4.0679.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 101.09.
