Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Energy, Chemicals and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 4.29% or 0.48 points to trade at 11.67 at the close. Meanwhile, X Trade Brokers Dom Maklerski SA (WA:XTB) added 2.35% or 1.66 points to end at 72.16 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 2.21% or 0.44 points to 20.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Text SA (WA:TXTP), which fell 4.64% or 4.10 points to trade at 84.30 at the close. Pepco Group Nv (WA:PCOP) declined 2.67% or 0.56 points to end at 20.39 and Benefit Systems SA (WA:BFT) was down 2.19% or 60.00 points to 2,680.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 252 to 252 and 105 ended unchanged.
Shares in Enea SA (WA:ENAE) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.29% or 0.48 to 11.67.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.86% or 0.71 to $81.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.82% or 0.70 to hit $85.05 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.75 to trade at $2,362.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.01% to 4.26, while USD/PLN unchanged 0.06% to 3.94.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 104.86.
