Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Information Technology and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 6.34% or 3.85 points to trade at 64.55 at the close. Meanwhile, CCC SA (WA:CCCP) added 5.74% or 11.60 points to end at 213.60 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 5.29% or 1.70 points to 33.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which fell 2.45% or 2.51 points to trade at 100.11 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 1.55% or 140.00 points to end at 8870.00 and Play Communications SA (WA:PLY) was down 1.36% or 0.28 points to 20.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 234 to 216 and 175 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.93% or 0.64 to $69.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.31% or 0.24 to hit $78.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.61% or 7.40 to trade at $1200.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.16% to 4.3101, while USD/PLN rose 0.53% to 3.7005.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 94.84.
