Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Energy, Food and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 5.77% or 0.72 points to trade at 13.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 5.54% or 0.170 points to end at 3.240 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 5.35% or 0.66 points to 13.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were OrangePL (WA:OPL), which fell 3.55% or 0.20 points to trade at 5.43 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 3.17% or 2.39 points to end at 73.09 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was down 2.50% or 0.61 points to 23.79.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 286 to 219 and 180 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.13% or 0.63 to $56.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.29% or 0.79 to hit $62.01 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.89% or 11.30 to trade at $1254.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.01% to 4.2121, while USD/PLN rose 0.04% to 3.5725.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 93.64.
