Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Media, Construction and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.02% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 2.74% or 0.40 points to trade at 15.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Kruk SA (WA:KRU) added 1.66% or 5.00 points to end at 306.95 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 1.60% or 0.41 points to 26.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR), which fell 1.86% or 1.55 points to trade at 81.85 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 1.71% or 1.06 points to end at 60.95 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was down 1.68% or 0.22 points to 12.88.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 256 to 221 and 182 ended unchanged.
Shares in Enea SA (WA:ENAE) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.74% or 0.40 to 15.00.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.98% or 0.45 to $46.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.01% or 0.49 to hit $48.91 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.83% or 10.08 to trade at $1227.38 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.44% to 4.2054, while USD/PLN fell 0.91% to 3.6722.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 95.04.
