Investing.com – Philippines stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Services, Holding Firms and Mining & Oil sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite fell 1.37% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC), which rose 2.45% or 6.80 points to trade at 284.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) added 1.97% or 1.200 points to end at 62.200 and Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) was up 0.06% or 1.00 points to 1661.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LT Group Inc (PS:LTG), which fell 4.42% or 0.880 points to trade at 19.020 at the close. JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) declined 3.70% or 2.000 points to end at 52.000 and Metro Pacific Investments Corp (PS:MPI) was down 3.53% or 0.170 points to 4.650.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 123 to 69 and 47 ended unchanged.
Shares in JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.70% or 2.000 to 52.000.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.23% or 2.90 to $1283.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.48% or 0.97 to hit $64.72 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.89% or 0.67 to trade at $74.67 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.55% to 8.2514, while USD/PHP rose 0.17% to 53.441.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 94.74.
