Investing.com – Philippines stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Property, Industrials and Holding Firms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite fell 1.25%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which rose 1.79% or 0.65 points to trade at 36.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Security Bank Corp (PS:SECB) added 1.18% or 3.00 points to end at 257.00 and DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC) was up 0.58% or 0.080 points to 13.820 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which fell 3.28% or 0.160 points to trade at 4.720 at the close. Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) declined 3.24% or 60.00 points to end at 1790.00 and Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC) was down 2.86% or 4.30 points to 146.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 128 to 82 and 46 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.07% or 0.90 to $1330.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.23% or 0.76 to hit $61.03 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.04% or 0.68 to trade at $64.57 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.24% to 8.2212, while USD/PHP fell 0.28% to 52.118.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 89.78.
