Investing.com – Philippines stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Services, Holding Firms and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 1.00%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Metro Pacific Investments Corp (PS:MPI), which rose 3.09% or 0.150 points to trade at 5.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) added 1.39% or 0.45 points to end at 32.75 and Emperador Inc (PS:EMP) was up 1.10% or 0.080 points to 7.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Manila Electric Co (PS:MER), which fell 3.80% or 15.00 points to trade at 380.00 at the close. LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) declined 3.70% or 0.680 points to end at 17.720 and JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) was down 2.62% or 1.500 points to 55.800.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 118 to 78 and 44 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.10% or 1.20 to $1226.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $67.59 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.05 to trade at $72.34 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.26% to 7.7717, while USD/PHP rose 0.24% to 53.087.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.73.
