Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Banking & Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 1.61%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC), which rose 7.64% or 10.50 points to trade at 148.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Security Bank Corp (PS:SECB) added 4.11% or 6.00 points to end at 152.00 and BDO Unibank Inc (PS:BDO) was up 3.66% or 4.10 points to 116.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LT Group Inc (PS:LTG), which fell 0.76% or 0.100 points to trade at 13.100 at the close. Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) declined 0.55% or 0.250 points to end at 45.400 and Puregold Price Club Inc (PS:PGOLD) was down 0.12% or 0.050 points to 40.950.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 130 to 56 and 45 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.25% or 3.10 to $1227.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.28% or 0.20 to hit $72.12 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.31 to trade at $81.72 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.25% to 7.7811, while USD/PHP rose 0.27% to 53.935.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 94.86.
