Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Mining & Oil and Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO), which rose 3.90% or 60.00 points to trade at 1600.00 at the close. Meanwhile, DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC) added 3.81% or 0.400 points to end at 10.900 and SM Investments Corp (PS:SM) was up 2.86% or 25.00 points to 900.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV), which fell 2.75% or 1.500 points to trade at 53.000 at the close. Emperador Inc (PS:EMP) declined 2.71% or 0.200 points to end at 7.190 and Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) was down 1.14% or 3.00 points to 260.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 114 to 93 and 40 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.75% or 1.500 to 53.000.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.37% or 4.70 to $1249.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.46% or 0.34 to hit $73.81 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.06% or 0.84 to trade at $78.39 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.39% to 8.0249, while USD/PHP rose 0.15% to 53.425.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 94.56.
