Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Mining & Oil and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which rose 4.67% or 1.40 points to trade at 31.40 at the close. Meanwhile, JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) added 2.78% or 1.650 points to end at 61.000 and GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP) was up 2.70% or 27.00 points to 1027.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energy Development Corp (PS:EDC), which fell 3.31% or 0.180 points to trade at 5.260 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) declined 2.45% or 0.120 points to end at 4.780 and SM Prime Holdings Inc (PS:SMPH) was down 1.86% or 0.700 points to 37.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 102 to 83 and 49 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.21% or 2.70 to $1300.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.18% or 0.12 to hit $65.62 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.08 to trade at $76.38 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.21% to 8.2717, while USD/PHP rose 0.19% to 52.985.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 93.49.
