Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Mining & Oil and Banking & Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.19% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO), which rose 8.76% or 153.00 points to trade at 1899.00 at the close. Meanwhile, PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) added 6.52% or 98.00 points to end at 1601.00 and Petron Corp (PS:PCOR) was up 5.10% or 0.470 points to 9.680 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Emperador Inc (PS:EMP), which fell 3.45% or 0.300 points to trade at 8.400 at the close. Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC) declined 2.60% or 0.550 points to end at 20.600 and Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) was down 2.33% or 6.80 points to 285.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 116 to 95 and 55 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.51% or 6.90 to $1345.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.24% or 0.16 to hit $66.30 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.15 to trade at $70.00 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.26% to 8.0906, while USD/PHP rose 0.43% to 51.182.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 89.05.
