Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Palm Oil, Information Technology and Land & Property sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:NEH) added 12.11% or 140.40 points to end at 1300.00 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was up 11.11% or 0.100 points to 1.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which fell 19.61% or 2512.50 points to trade at 10300.00 at the close. Ceylon Hospitals PLC (CM:CHL) declined 11.21% or 10.10 points to end at 80.00 and Convenience Foods (Lanka) PLC (CM:SOY) was down 11.21% or 42.30 points to 335.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 93 to 77 and 55 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.25% or 0.68 to $55.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.20% or 0.73 to hit $61.67 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.69% or 8.81 to trade at $1279.31 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.19% to 204.350, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 153.690.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 94.53.
