Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Industrials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the Lima Stock Exchange General lost 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the Lima Stock Exchange General were Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which rose 5.06% or 1.130 points to trade at 23.480 at the close. Meanwhile, Milpo (LM:MIL) added 3.76% or 0.070 points to end at 1.930 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was up 2.84% or 0.300 points to 10.850 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sider (LM:SID), which fell 6.67% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.140 at the close. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) declined 5.17% or 0.030 points to end at 0.550 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was down 2.94% or 0.010 points to 0.340.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 11 to 9 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sider (LM:SID) fell to all time lows; falling 6.67% or 0.010 to 0.140. Shares in Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.94% or 0.010 to 0.340.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 2.02% or 1.17 to $56.71 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 1.99% or 1.26 to hit $62.19 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.70% or 8.30 to trade at $1202.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.39% to 3.1221, while EUR/PEN fell 0.60% to 3.3343.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 98.20.
