Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Food & Beverages sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 1.01%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Relapasa (LM:REL), which rose 3.17% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.195 at the close. Meanwhile, Edegel (LM:EDE) added 2.27% or 0.050 points to end at 2.250 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 1.28% or 0.010 points to 0.790 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which fell 12.70% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.0550 at the close. Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) declined 5.41% or 2.68 points to end at 46.87 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) was down 3.96% or 0.990 points to 24.010.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 19 to 9 and 9 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.95% or 1.32 to $68.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.37% or 0.99 to hit $73.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.86% or 10.60 to trade at $1217.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.09% to 3.2725, while EUR/PEN fell 0.47% to 3.8007.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.55% at 94.98.
