Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Electricity and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 1.01% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which rose 1.39% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.730 at the close. Meanwhile, Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) added 0.35% or 0.100 points to end at 29.000 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was up 0.33% or 0.050 points to 15.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Milpo (LM:MIL), which fell 5.90% or 0.320 points to trade at 5.100 at the close. PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX) unchanged 2.94% or 0.00 points to end at 0.07 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was down 2.91% or 6.51 points to 217.49.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 23 to 3 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX) unchanged to 52-week highs; unchanged 2.94% or 0.00 to 0.07.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.93% or 1.92 to $63.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 2.11% or 1.45 to hit $67.13 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 4.10 to trade at $1341.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.37% to 3.2305, while EUR/PEN fell 0.09% to 4.0022.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 89.45.
