Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.85%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which rose 2.78% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.740 at the close. Meanwhile, Bco Continenta (LM:CON) added 2.35% or 0.100 points to end at 4.350 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) was up 1.56% or 0.340 points to 22.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which fell 4.28% or 0.680 points to trade at 15.210 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 3.60% or 0.040 points to end at 1.070 and Andino Investment Holding SAA (LM:AIH) was down 2.16% or 0.040 points to 1.810.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 20 to 11 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Inretail Peru (LM:INR) rose to 3-years highs; rising 1.56% or 0.340 to 22.100.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.01% or 1.26 to $61.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.93% or 1.27 to hit $64.52 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.67% or 8.90 to trade at $1326.30 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.03% to 3.2535, while EUR/PEN fell 0.16% to 4.0369.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 89.55.
