Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Food & Beverages sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.62% to hit a new 3-years low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which rose 2.94% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.175 at the close. Meanwhile, Casa Grande (LM:CSG) added 1.25% or 0.060 points to end at 4.850 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) was up 0.78% or 0.150 points to 19.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which fell 12.28% or 0.700 points to trade at 5.000 at the close. Sider (LM:SID) declined 6.63% or 0.011 points to end at 0.155 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was down 3.13% or 0.020 points to 0.620.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 20 to 4 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) fell to all time lows; down 12.28% or 0.700 to 5.000.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.05% or 0.02 to $42.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.08% or 0.54 to hit $49.65 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.83% or 9.30 to trade at $1114.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.23% to 3.2330, while EUR/PEN rose 0.07% to 3.5848.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.00% at 96.37.
