Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 4.29% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.730 at the close. Meanwhile, Milpo (LM:MIL) added 3.02% or 0.080 points to end at 2.730 and Sider (LM:SID) was up 2.94% or 0.012 points to 0.420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Edegel (LM:EDE), which fell 4.24% or 0.140 points to trade at 3.160 at the close. Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) declined 1.26% or 0.150 points to end at 11.750 and Relapasa (LM:REL) was down 0.78% or 0.002 points to 0.253.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 16 to 10 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Milpo (LM:MIL) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.02% or 0.080 to 2.730. Shares in Sider (LM:SID) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.94% or 0.012 to 0.420.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.92% or 1.25 to $41.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $43.83 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.43% or 5.85 to trade at $1352.55 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3190, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6954.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.49% at 95.59.
