Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 1.56% to hit a new 3-years high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM:VOLa), which rose 18.75% or 0.600 points to trade at 3.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) added 9.16% or 0.120 points to end at 1.350 and Panoro (LM:PML) was up 6.90% or 0.018 points to 0.279 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atacocha (LM:ATB), which fell 5.97% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.630 at the close. Credicorp (LM:BAP) declined 1.45% or 3.06 points to end at 208.50 and Unacem (LM:CEL) was down 1.34% or 0.040 points to 2.950.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 23 to 9 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM:VOLa) rose to 3-years highs; up 18.75% or 0.600 to 3.800. Shares in Atacocha (LM:ATB) fell to 5-year highs; down 5.97% or 0.040 to 0.630. Shares in Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 9.16% or 0.120 to 1.350.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.05% or 0.53 to $49.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.11% or 0.06 to hit $55.83 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.70 to trade at $1277.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2590, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.8304.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.31.
