Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 1.22% to hit a new 3-years high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Atacocha (LM:ATB), which rose 4.48% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. Meanwhile, Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 4.36% or 0.660 points to end at 15.810 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 4.07% or 0.050 points to 1.280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which fell 4.00% or 0.500 points to trade at 12.000 at the close. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) declined 0.51% or 0.010 points to end at 1.940 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) was down 0.05% or 0.010 points to 20.580.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 30 to 5 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Buenaventura (LM:BVN) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.36% or 0.660 to 15.810.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.19% or 1.41 to $65.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 1.10% or 0.77 to hit $70.73 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.60% or 21.40 to trade at $1358.10 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.20% to 3.2125, while EUR/PEN rose 0.74% to 3.9788.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.93% at 89.04.
