Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.94% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Compania Minera Milpo SAA Class I (LM:MILi), which rose 3.12% or 0.100 points to trade at 3.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) added 2.46% or 1.31 points to end at 54.60 and ENGIE Energia Peru SA (LM:ENGI) was up 1.98% or 0.130 points to 6.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which fell 10.11% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.0800 at the close. Atacocha (LM:ATB) declined 1.54% or 0.010 points to end at 0.640 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was down 1.37% or 0.010 points to 0.720.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 11 to 10 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) rose to all time highs; rising 2.46% or 1.31 to 54.60.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.48% or 0.30 to $62.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $65.50 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.17% or 15.50 to trade at $1335.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.32% to 3.2525, while EUR/PEN rose 1.00% to 4.0433.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 89.56.
