Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.76% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 9.41% or 0.080 points to trade at 0.930 at the close. Meanwhile, Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) added 2.94% or 1.50 points to end at 52.50 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 1.98% or 0.020 points to 1.030 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.07 at the close. Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE) declined 2.30% or 0.140 points to end at 5.950 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) was down 2.00% or 0.250 points to 12.250.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 15 to 14 and 14 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.79% or 0.52 to $65.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $75.77 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.60 to trade at $1300.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.43% to 3.2562, while EUR/PEN rose 0.04% to 3.8346.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 93.61.
