Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, S&P Lima Juniors and Banking & Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi), which rose 3.70% or 0.750 points to trade at 21.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Panoro (LM:PML) added 3.00% or 0.007 points to end at 0.240 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 2.50% or 0.020 points to 0.820 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which fell 3.81% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.020 at the close. Candente Copper (LM:DNT) declined 3.23% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.0600 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was down 2.97% or 0.030 points to 0.980.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 14 to 12 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) rose to all time highs; rising 3.70% or 0.750 to 21.000.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 2.23% or 1.49 to $68.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.10% or 0.08 to hit $77.75 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.70 to trade at $1300.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.31% to 3.2705, while EUR/PEN rose 0.66% to 3.8127.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.79% at 94.06.
