Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX), which rose 25.00% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.07 at the close. Meanwhile, Minsur (LM:MINi) added 2.83% or 0.050 points to end at 1.820 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 2.74% or 0.020 points to 0.750 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Relapasa (LM:REL), which fell 6.80% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.315 at the close. Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) declined 3.62% or 0.005 points to end at 0.133 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) was down 1.08% or 0.060 points to 5.500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 15 to 11 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX) rose to 52-week highs; up 25.00% or 0.01 to 0.07. Shares in Casa Grande (LM:CSG) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.08% or 0.060 to 5.500.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.30% or 0.79 to $61.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.17% or 0.11 to hit $64.47 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.40 to trade at $1355.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.64% to 3.2450, while EUR/PEN rose 0.07% to 4.0509.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 88.52.
