Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Mining and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 4.41% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.710 at the close. Meanwhile, Edegel (LM:EDE) added 2.33% or 0.040 points to end at 1.760 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) was up 2.08% or 0.490 points to 24.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Casa Grande (LM:CSG), which fell 3.65% or 0.190 points to trade at 5.010 at the close. Compania Minera Milpo SAA Class I (LM:MILi) declined 3.23% or 0.100 points to end at 3.000 and Candente Copper (LM:DNT) was down 2.99% or 0.0020 points to 0.0650.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 16 to 15 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sider (LM:SID) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.41% or 0.030 to 0.710. Shares in Casa Grande (LM:CSG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.65% or 0.190 to 5.010.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.21% or 2.22 to $71.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $77.31 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1312.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.09% to 3.2925, while EUR/PEN fell 0.12% to 3.9034.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 92.95.
