Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Mining, Non-Metal Minerals and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.05% to hit a new 3-years high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Unacem (LM:CEL), which rose 3.04% or 0.090 points to trade at 3.050 at the close. Meanwhile, Milpo (LM:MIL) added 2.53% or 0.130 points to end at 5.260 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was up 2.28% or 1.12 points to 50.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX), which fell 7.14% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.07 at the close. Minsur (LM:MINi) declined 2.62% or 0.050 points to end at 1.860 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was down 1.44% or 0.020 points to 1.370.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 18 to 10 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Unacem (LM:CEL) rose to 3-years highs; rising 3.04% or 0.090 to 3.050. Shares in PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX) fell to 52-week highs; falling 7.14% or 0.01 to 0.07. Shares in Milpo (LM:MIL) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.53% or 0.130 to 5.260. Shares in Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) rose to all time highs; up 2.28% or 1.12 to 50.30.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.64% or 0.42 to $65.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.67% or 0.47 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.70% or 9.50 to trade at $1346.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.05% to 3.2110, while EUR/PEN rose 0.72% to 4.0076.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 89.06.
