Investing.com – Norway stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Commercial Service And Supplies, Materials and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX fell 0.84%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS), which rose 0.69% or 0.27 points to trade at 39.37 at the close. Meanwhile, TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) added 0.63% or 2.0 points to end at 319.0 and DnB ASA (OL:DNB) was up 0.34% or 0.6 points to 162.7 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which fell 7.35% or 0.07 points to trade at 0.83 at the close. Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) declined 2.60% or 1.25 points to end at 46.80 and DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) was down 1.98% or 0.32 points to 15.55.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 125 to 50 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) rose to all time highs; rising 0.63% or 2.0 to 319.0.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.33% or 1.73 to $72.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 3.26% or 2.57 to hit $76.29 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.70% or 8.80 to trade at $1246.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.35% to 9.4488, while USD/NOK rose 0.52% to 8.0592.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 94.08.
