Investing.com – Norway stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Media, Consumer Durables And Apparel and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX fell 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS), which rose 0.63% or 0.1 points to trade at 8.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Statoil ASA (OL:STL) added 0.61% or 0.8 points to end at 131.3 and Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OL:DETNOR) was up 0.59% or 0.60 points to 103.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which fell 6.73% or 1.1 points to trade at 14.6 at the close. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) declined 4.31% or 1.0 points to end at 21.5 and Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA) was down 2.67% or 6.9 points to 251.9.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 110 to 60 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) fell to 5-year lows; falling 6.73% or 1.1 to 14.6.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 4.10% or 1.62 to $41.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 3.88% or 1.62 to hit $43.42 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.60% or 8.20 to trade at $1364.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.37% to 9.4257, while USD/NOK rose 0.30% to 8.4553.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 95.51.
