Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Energy and Software & Computer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS), which rose 4.66% or 1.38 points to trade at 30.98 at the close. Meanwhile, DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) added 3.22% or 0.27 points to end at 8.49 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) was up 1.88% or 0.77 points to 41.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Schibsted ASA B (OL:SBSTB), which fell 1.09% or 2.00 points to trade at 182.00 at the close. Lerøy Seafood Group ASA (OL:LSG) declined 1.00% or 4.8 points to end at 476.1 and Storebrand ASA (OL:STB) was down 0.83% or 0.39 points to 46.46.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 94 to 81 and 29 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.56% or 0.30 to $54.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.46% or 0.26 to hit $57.09 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.12% or 1.35 to trade at $1140.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.20% to 9.0887, while USD/NOK rose 0.58% to 8.7481.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 103.44.
