Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Energy, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 2.87%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS), which rose 14.95% or 18.9 points to trade at 145.3 at the close. Meanwhile, REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC) added 13.52% or 0.19 points to end at 1.59 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) was up 13.35% or 2.12 points to 18.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT), which fell 0.52% or 0.03 points to trade at 5.69 at the close. Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 68.00 and Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG) was up 1.22% or 1.70 points to 140.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 121 to 46 and 19 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.74% or 1.30 to $46.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.75% or 1.34 to hit $47.46 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.66% or 9.05 to trade at $1358.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.45% to 9.4024, while USD/NOK rose 0.82% to 8.5015.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 96.32.
