Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Durables And Apparel, Banking and Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 2.27% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Aker Solutions OL (OL:AKSOL), which rose 8.78% or 3.19 points to trade at 39.54 at the close. Meanwhile, BW LPG Ltd (OL:BWLPG) added 8.58% or 2.64 points to end at 33.40 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) was up 8.49% or 1.32 points to 16.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which fell 5.39% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.07 at the close. Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 50.25 and Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL:GJFS) was up 0.41% or 0.6 points to 145.9.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 127 to 42 and 31 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.98% or 0.44 to $45.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.55% or 0.26 to hit $47.78 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.20 to trade at $1220.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.43% to 9.4518, while USD/NOK rose 0.05% to 8.2828.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 95.56.
