Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare Equipment & Services, Materials and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.58%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Elkem ASA (OL:ELK), which rose 5.89% or 1.26 points to trade at 22.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Nel ASA (OL:NEL) added 4.71% or 0.310 points to end at 6.890 and Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) was up 3.64% or 1.38 points to 39.28 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA), which fell 0.54% or 1.3 points to trade at 238.7 at the close. BW Offshore Ltd (OL:BWO) declined 0.05% or 0.020 points to end at 43.800 and DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) was up 0.74% or 0.10 points to 12.86.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 146 to 65 and 23 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.39% or 1.22 to $52.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.03% or 1.14 to hit $57.37 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.74% or 11.25 to trade at $1508.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.31% to 9.9939, while USD/NOK fell 0.42% to 8.9154.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 97.338.
