Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Materials and Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 1.56%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS), which rose 4.52% or 0.88 points to trade at 20.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Lerøy Seafood Group ASA (OL:LSG) added 4.08% or 18.8 points to end at 479.3 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) was up 4.00% or 1.84 points to 47.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which fell 7.37% or 0.35 points to trade at 4.40 at the close. BW LPG Ltd (OL:BWLPG) declined 1.34% or 0.49 points to end at 36.20 and Frontline Ltd (OL:FRO) was down 0.47% or 0.25 points to 52.45.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 124 to 57 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) fell to all time lows; losing 7.37% or 0.35 to 4.40. Shares in Frontline Ltd (OL:FRO) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.47% or 0.25 to 52.45.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.21% or 1.09 to $50.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 2.19% or 1.15 to hit $53.66 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.22 to trade at $1252.58 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.34% to 9.3920, while USD/NOK fell 1.10% to 8.3940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 97.17.
