Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Insurance and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.03% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Subsea 7 SA (OL:SUBC), which rose 5.69% or 6.3 points to trade at 117.1 at the close. Meanwhile, Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) added 5.67% or 1.4 points to end at 25.4 and REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC) was up 5.30% or 0.07 points to 1.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG), which fell 2.06% or 3.20 points to trade at 152.30 at the close. P/f Bakkafrost (OL:BAKKA) declined 1.35% or 4.40 points to end at 322.10 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) was down 0.86% or 0.42 points to 48.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 124 to 54 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in Subsea 7 SA (OL:SUBC) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.69% or 6.3 to 117.1.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.15% or 0.08 to $53.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $55.45 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.96% or 11.65 to trade at $1199.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.29% to 8.9408, while USD/NOK fell 0.37% to 8.3233.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 100.02.
