Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.03% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC), which rose 9.57% or 3.57 points to trade at 40.87 at the close. Meanwhile, SalMar ASA (OL:SALM) added 5.21% or 21.10 points to end at 426.30 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) was up 4.53% or 2.40 points to 55.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telenor ASA (OL:TEL), which fell 1.06% or 1.9 points to trade at 182.8 at the close. DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) declined 0.66% or 0.10 points to end at 14.96 and TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) was down 0.38% or 0.9 points to 234.5.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 144 to 75 and 20 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.94% or 0.54 to $56.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.75% or 0.48 to hit $63.34 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.90 to trade at $1418.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.07% to 9.6306, while USD/NOK rose 0.03% to 8.5360.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 96.350.
